LEGO HARRY POTTER AND THE TRANSGENDER WITCH

(Note: In addition to reserved seating, a limited number of seats will be made available for walk-up audiences at the door.)

A queer fan-fiction parody adventure created in stop-motion animation in the pandemic by unemployed theater artists, screening for one night only at Theatre Battery in Kent, WA. This event will include a remastered and cut screening of the web series, with cast appearances, community celebration, and general queerness. The series includes some adult language and violent situations involving LEGOs — recommended for audiences 10 and older!

Hosted by Kent Station: Performance Space located at 444 Ramsay Way next to Gentle Dental (in the corner near to Panera Bread).

The series can be previewed on Youtube and at theatrebattery.org/hp-transgender-witch

Quincy Blueburger is an eleven-year-old muggle-born LEGO. She has messy hot pink hair and she loves talking to animals. One night, an owl smashes into her bedroom window with a letter that will change her life: she has been admitted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. With high hopes to learn magic and make new friends, Quincy arrives at the castle in the countryside to learn that she is the school’s first ever out transgender student.

Underscoring has been provided by the Bay Area Rainbow Symphony, multiple participating artists come from the 2020 graduating class from Yale School of Drama, and Theatre Battery is partnering with UTOPIA WA and other local LGBT nonprofits to raise awareness for trans advocacy work in the pandemic.

(This project is a non-profit fanfiction parody and is not affiliated with JK Rowling, Warner Brothers, or LEGO)
